Headlines/Today's Starters

Cubs notes: Rusch, Nomar, Dusty laments (Cubs.com)

Can you say 1 for 27? Barrett's found the ball (Sun-Times)

Nomar throws add to woes (Sun-Times)

----

Starters this evening:
CHC: RHP Carlos Zambrano• 1-0, 4.00 ERA in 2005• 1-1, 2.78 ERA vs. STL in 2004
STL: RHP Jeff Suppan• 1-1, 3.65 ERA in 2005• 1-1, 3.79 ERA vs. CHC in 2004

I know it's hard to say there's such a thing as a "must-win" game after only 14 this season, but it will be the real litmus test to see how well the Cubs can matchup this year with their arch-rivals for the NL Central Pennant. These two teams have kicked lumps out of each over in recent times, and tonight is an excellent, nationally-televised opportunity to see how the new-look Cubs can match with the Cardinals. Zambrano will have to keep his cool against a lethal St. Louis lineup.

You guys are slow on the upload. Tonight's game was a killer. Carlos was the man. We need a good Latin nickname for him. "The Baby Bull" was already used, so was "Big Cat." You guys should be contacting Venezuela to find out what they call him down there.

Nomar's injury might be a blessing in disguise. Neifi is playing well in the field and not hitting too badly. The time off the field might allow Nomar to adjust so that when he comes back, if they don't rush him, he'll regain his hitting eye.

So, has the voting started for the All Star game yet? How do you spell "first base"? Does it start with a "D"?

Sorry, I made a spelling error, and I was trying to correct my miscue in slo-mo replay. Oh, well, server space is infinite, right?

Server space is indeed infinite!

As for tonight's game, it has taken me some 12 hours for the adrenaline to wear off to the point where I can write anything other than complete gibberish... full "report" to follow, man I love Zambrano.
